 Growing Marine Plants!

By Nikhilesh Shah

Friends, I believe the future is this...you will see all the Oceans and Seas of the world colored like in this picture.

See the shades of color in the center of the picture. This picture is that of ‘Bay of Biscay’, an inlet of North Atlantic Ocean. The photo is taken from space by the Envisat Satellite.

And what are these Greenish Shades? They are marine plants – Phytoplanktons.

These plants are credited with removing as much Carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as their earthbound 'Cousins'.

As in recent days, the whole world is fighting against Global Warming and can't find enough space on earth to grow trees. The FUTURE is this - Growing Marine Plants!

India has a very big Sea Coastline. The Indian govt. or the private companies should think about the above idea.

Some companies in USA and Europe have already started working on this. By growing marine plants, they can earn Carbon Credits.
