Need of the Hour - A Shift in Attitude
Tsunami, Katrina, earthquakes, soaring temperatures in coastal areas like Mumbai, and the latest ‘Aila’ cyclone in Kolkata!! Consequences- we are all aware of, but are we aware of the causes? Rather, are we really bothered about looking into the causes? I doubt!! We only talk about what is happening round the globe, but do we work towards reducing such disastrous events, do we really make a move or just feel glad that there are a few organizations working in this direction and they can take care of it all. We all tend to sit pretty.
Each one of us has a role to play in reducing the impact of climate change and global warming. We all have to feel responsible and initiate. Just those few organizations alone can not bring about the changes required, what is required is a shift in our attitudes. And time is still not lost; we can begin with small steps like reducing water wastage, paper and other such resources and reducing carbon footprints. This shift in attitudes itself would contribute sufficiently towards the issue of climate change.
